CLASS #1 GLASS CUTTING, PATTERN SELECTION &PREPARATION, GLASS SELECTION
CLASS #2 CUT ALL GLASS, BEGIN TO GRIND & FOIL
CLASS #3 FINISH GRINDING, FOILING & BEGIN SOLDERING
CLASS #4 FRAME PROJECT, FINISH SOLDERING AND ADD HOOKS & CHAIN
Tools and equipment needed for the stained glass work:
pistol grip cutter (tap)
glass breaking pliers, running pliers (optional)
glass marking pens in white/ black
waffle grid - glass cutting surface
glass grinder, grinder station (optional)
7/32” silverback copper foil, table glass foiler (optional), foil burnisher
glass hammer, pkg. of horseshoe nails
soldering iron (with temp. control), iron stand
1 lb. 60/40 solder, paste flux, sal-ammoniac
zinc U channel for framing
flux & patina remover, finishing compound
*The course consists of 4 – 2-hour classes. (16+ years old)
*Class fee: $45.00 per each 2-hour session. ($20 hr. for additional time).
*All classes are private and scheduled by appointment M-Th, from 10:30-4:00.
*Projects are to be selected from our pre-approved pattern catalog.
*Tools and equipment are provided during the class session.
*Students are required to purchase consumables such as glass, project board, foil,
solder, flux, framing material and chain.
*Only students are allowed in the classroom during the class.
*Closed toe shoes are required in the classroom.
* All tools and equipment are available for purchase at McAllen Stained Glass.
